A Keynote has been produced for the pitch and shall be developed over the course of the coming week. Aidan has been producing the iPhone App interface.

Jonny and Neil have reviewed a script for the 3 minute intro and are going to be working on it a bit more. Joe’s input would be hugely appreciated. Consultation with the actor required aswell.

A meeting has been agreed for Monday night (12/10/09) to allow for Joe to contribute. The Keynote will need to be developed and completed for Friday (16/10/09) and a shoot period requires confirmation. Again requiring Joe.

EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES MEETING

In consideration of Neil’s absence and in review of the problems with pre-production experienced by the group we will be applying for extenuating circumstances. The group plans to do the pitch presentation on the 15th of October as planned, but shall request to hand in the video production and written portion 3 weeks later.

Two documents have been produced and submitted to Neil. Aidan has produced a write up rationale etc, and a Jonny has produced a coverage of the Learning and Teaching methods the group shall be using.

Moving forward, Aidan is going to produce a test-bed Keynote for the pitch. Neil is gather the materials so far in to rough content, and Jonny is to start the script. Joe has consulted with the actor.

The group will reconvene after it has completed its upcoming Marketing Presentation to agree on script and shoot date.

Agree to meet again Tuesday 6th October when Joe can attend.

Roles for the production of ‘Zombie Holocaust’, as it has been nicknamed, are assigned.

Joseph Brett is to be Director, as he has the best working relationship with the actor we have in mind.

Neil Payne is to be Cinematographer and Producer,

Aidan Hornsby is to Head of Post-Production, Editor and VFX technician.

Jonathan Dudley is to be Writer and Producer with Neil.

Source material for the pre-production is reviewed by the team. Neil and Aidan are going to divide the reading of the Max Brooks books between them and Joseph and Jonny are going to review some ‘classic’ source material, including the works of Romero.

Another meeting is scheduled for Thursday 10th September.

The ‘video-based training’ assignment concept is discussed and some ideas are put forward for potential projects:

- A course with a satirical edge focusing on teaching new students the basics and necessities of living away from home. For example: cooking, cleaning, drinking, how to enjoy freshers week, etc.

- ‘How-to Survive a Zombie Holocaust’ – A course implemented to teach survivors of a zombie holocaust how to stay alive and safe. Clearly satirical and targeted at the same audience as Shaun of The Dead (2004).

- A basic cooking course but with an interesting chef and even more interesting meals..

A unanimous vote chooses the the zombie holocaust idea. It is decided it will take the form of a series of short lessons detailing everything from collecting food (looting, raiding and pillaging) and  finding and  securing shelter (breaking and entering, barricading skills) all the way to finding and constructing weapons and the most efficient ways to dispatch zombies.

One ‘teacher’ will demonstrate each lesson with 1 or more zombies (using a combination of prosthetics and post production to achieve a realistic zombie effect). Some icdeas for an actor for the teacher are discussed, but nothing is decided yet.

Another meeting is scheduled for the following week to further develop the idea after we have confirmed with Jennifer if we will be permitted to actually produce this for the course.

- The Extraterrestrial Concept

- “Part 3″ – A cowboy time travel concept

The extraterrestrial concept was selected as the project best suited to a handheld device, and also one of the most realistic to be able to produce to high standards within the given timeframe. It will entail:

- A series of podcasts focusing around transmissions from an ‘extraterrestrial’ attempting to communicate with humans through the internet – this being knows not to try and contact through governments and officials if it wants to communicate with the people of Earth directly.

- A twist on the talking heads format, but much more visually flexible and dynamic
